We are the data controller for personal information used for our own business purposes. You can contact us about this policy or your personal information at roddyadams@icloud.com, by phone on 07545 922495, or by post at:

Personal information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you use the Site. It may include:

  • Contact and delivery details: your name, email address, telephone number, billing address and delivery address.
  • Order and transaction details: items ordered, order history, delivery and return information, and payment status. Payments are handled by Shopify and the payment provider you select. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number through the Site.
  • Messages and preferences: information you include when contacting us, asking for support, or providing product or delivery instructions, along with your marketing and cookie preferences.
  • Device and usage information: technical information such as IP address, browser and device details, approximate location inferred from your IP address, pages or products viewed, referring pages, and interactions with the Site. Shopify and the cookies or similar technologies enabled on the Site may collect this information.

If you buy from or contact us through a third-party marketplace such as Etsy, that marketplace has its own privacy practices. It may provide us with the information needed to fulfil your order, answer your questions and meet our legal obligations. We do not add marketplace customers to our marketing list simply because they placed an order; we use their details for marketing only where we have a lawful basis to do so.

How and why we use your information

  • To process and fulfil orders, take payment, arrange delivery, handle returns and provide customer support. Our lawful basis is that this is necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To keep business and tax records and meet legal obligations. Our lawful basis is compliance with those obligations.
  • To run, maintain and protect the Site and our business, respond to enquiries, prevent fraud and misuse, and improve the shopping experience. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider and balance those interests against your rights.
  • To send marketing emails about our products and offers where you have asked to receive them or where the law permits us to contact an existing customer about similar products. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in a marketing email or by contacting us. Our lawful basis under data protection law will be consent or, where appropriate, our legitimate interests; electronic marketing is also subject to applicable marketing rules.
  • To use optional analytics or advertising technologies where these are enabled and where the required consent has been given.

We use Resend to deliver and manage marketing emails. Resend processes the contact details needed to send those messages and maintain opt-out preferences.

Cookies and similar technologies

The Site uses essential cookies and similar technologies to support functions such as the shopping basket, checkout, security and remembering preferences. Shopify may also use cookies for store performance and analytics. If optional analytics or advertising cookies are enabled, we will request consent where required by law. You can change your choices using the cookie settings made available on the Site, or adjust your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect parts of the Site, including checkout.

When we share information

We share personal information only when needed for the purposes described in this policy. This may include sharing it with:

  • Shopify, which provides the ecommerce platform, checkout and related store services;
  • payment providers selected at checkout, to process and protect transactions;
  • delivery and fulfilment providers, to deliver orders and handle returns;
  • Resend, to deliver marketing emails to people who may lawfully receive them;
  • professional advisers, regulators, law enforcement or other parties when required by law or necessary to protect our legal rights or the safety of customers.

Our service providers may use personal information only as needed to provide their services to us and under their own applicable privacy terms. We do not sell your personal information.

International transfers

Some of our service providers may process or store information outside the United Kingdom. Where personal information is transferred internationally, we take steps to ensure that the transfer is protected in accordance with applicable UK data protection law, for example through an adequacy regulation or appropriate contractual safeguards.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. We keep order and transaction records for the periods needed to meet tax, accounting and other legal requirements, and to manage returns, warranties, disputes and claims. We keep marketing information until you unsubscribe or it is no longer needed. If you unsubscribe, we may retain a limited record of that choice so we can respect it.

Your privacy rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or receive certain information in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. You can always opt out of direct marketing.

To exercise a right, email roddyadams@icloud.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Some rights are subject to exceptions, for example where we must keep records by law.

If you are in the United Kingdom and have concerns about how we use your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

Automated checks

Shopify and payment providers may use automated tools to help detect fraud, protect transactions and secure the Site. We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects. If you have a concern about an automated payment or fraud check, contact us and we will help direct your query to the relevant provider.

Children

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided us with personal information can contact us to request that we review it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices, services or legal requirements. The latest version will be posted on this page with its updated date.
